China Extends Visa-Free Transit Stay to 240 Hours & 60 Ports in More Cities
China has officially extended its visa-free transit stay for eligible foreign visitors from 72/144 hours to 240 hours (10 days), allowing more time for travelers transiting to a third country. Additionally, 21 new entry ports and 5 more provinces have been added to the policy, enabling visitors to explore an expanded range of cities and regions.

On Nov 22nd, 2024, China decided to expand its unilateral Visa-free Policy to ordinary passport holders of 9 more countries, including Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Japan, 30 days stay per entry.
China Sees 48.8% Increase in Foreign Visitors
During 2024Q3, more than 8.18 million foreigners entered China through ports across the country, a year-on-year increase of 48.8 percent, the administration revealed at a news conference on Friday.
